Downtown Abbotsford Takeover with Connor Green

Connor Green, an Abbotsford resident, took our Instagram over and visited a few of Downtown Abbotsford’s amazing boutique shops and restaurants! Hear from Connor:

It was the perfect day to peruse the streets of Downtown Abbotsford! I (Connor) and my mom (Alison) decided to spend our afternoon exploring, and that we would start our adventure with some lunch from Duft & Co. This place is always bustling and has an incredibly energetic atmosphere. We tried the feature sandwich (Turkey + Feta on Focaccia) and got one of the classics as well (Hummus). I especially loved the Turkey sandwich, and my mom enjoyed the hummus one.

After we finished up at Duft, we went a few doors down to Spruce Collective. It was amazing to see how many local and ethically sourced products they carry! My mom loved looking through the cards and posters section at the back of the store.

Next, we went across the street to the Market by Spruce Collective. They have a unique collection of goods, and even have their own line of paint. The streets of downtown are super walkable, so we went down Essendene to Hemingway’s Books. I was looking for some material for school, and I found exactly what I needed! I could spend hours there— there are endless books to discover!

After taking a photo with the statue of the three friends on Montrose and Essendene, we headed up Montrose to Boardwalk Café. We ordered some delicious pour-over coffee, hot chocolate and popcorn, and played some classic board games. The popcorn is to die for! We played lots of board games growing up, so it was awesome taking some time to reminisce on those times. Somehow, my mom won every single game we played… We have a rematch planned for the near future! We could easily spend hours at Boardwalk as well, however, we knew that Oldhand was going to be serving their famous donuts at 4pm, so we decided to head up the road.

We caffeinated ourselves one last time and indulged in the Maple Walnut and the Apple Pie donuts. We ordered our first donuts, and then bought two more to take home—they were that good! We had a stellar time exploring downtown Abbotsford this afternoon, and will definitely be back to see more soon!
