Downtown Abbotsford Businesses Respond to COVID-19
March 23, 2020Updates
We asked our local Downtown Abbotsford businesses to share how they are responding to COVID-19 and what their current hours/closures look like. If you have any questions for specific businesses, please visit their websites linked.
“We will be in the store Monday to Friday 8am-12pm to process web orders and receive phone, Facetime and Facebook orders. The store is still closed to the public however, curb side pick up is available during these hours. Thank you for your patience while we try and navigate this new way of doing business.”
“Our storefront is now officially closed to the public and, despite understanding that shutting the doors was for the greater good, it was an emotional and heavy day for us as a team. We know this is temporary, but still feel the weight of the decision, as many other small businesses across Canada and the globe do too.
We’re going to take the day to digest our feelings a bit, but we’ll be around on Friday for those of you interested in placing orders or picking anything up curb-side.
Please email us at hello@shopbureaux.com or send us a message to make arrangements ~ we’re here and happy to accommodate the various ways we can keep you stocked in what you need while we’re apart ????????”
“On March 18 due to the growing COVID-19 pandemic we made the difficult decision to close the Bakehouse indefinitely. In order to continue being able to provide the community with our baked goods, we’ve set up online ordering for contactless pick up at the Bakehouse. Select items on specific days will be available for preordering each week. Add the items of your choice to the cart and complete the payment details.”
“We have also decided to have limited tables and chairs and become a take-out and delivery only establishment until further notice.”
“It’s time to pack in our signs, shut off the lights and lock up the doors. To our amazing, supportive community, we’ve made the hard decision to close our doors for the time being. In light of the current, rapidly changing situation, we feel this is the best next step for our community, employees, and business. –
This is not a goodbye, just see you later! We can’t wait to re-open our doors and welcome everyone back, you are truly family to us. A big thank you to everyone from our team to our customers for being so supportive. Also big love to our neighbours who have also been closing their doors during this time. Well see you on the other side! ????????”
“This has been such a tricky time for all students, parents and staff affected. I’m sending my love to everyone as we all try to navigate through this together. We are taking a two week break from the studio to honour social distancing and to do our part with COVID outbreak. This means all spring break camps and rehearsals are now cancelled.
We hope to reopen on March 30th but we are taking this day by day as there is so much uncertainty around this situation.
Currently JAM is working on an online class that students can access and partake in from home! We will keep you updated! Dancers, don’t forget to practice your routines and stretch everyday!!???? Be safe everyone! Sending you all love, health and happy thoughts!
Love, Jam Dance”
“We will be closed next week March 23-29. We will then make the decision of closure for the coming weeks.
NOTE: I will be checking emails( bucket9@shaw.ca) and phone messages (604-870-2994 ) daily.☎”
“A major part of House of Cards’ business is hosting events for the games we love. We want to encourage social distancing and it saddens us to do this however for the safety of our community we’re suspending all in store events until further notice. We’re also going to be adjusting our hours to since we’ll not be running events. Our website is open 7 days a week and orders will be processed as usual. Pick up at both stores has not changed.”
“We are going to be open Monday to Friday starting March 30. Our hours will be 10am until 2pm.”

We are encouraging everyone to self distance- stay home, spend time with your loved ones, wash your hands, and stay positive. We will all get through this! Love to you all❤️

“Effective immediately SPA PURE will be closed indefinitely due to the current and ongoing public health concern over COVID-19. Although this is not what we had hoped would transpire it is our duty to our Clients and community to do our part to help stop the spread of this virus. We appreciate all of our clients and wish you and your families good health and peace in this time of uncertainty.
* All Memberships will be put on hold indefinitely as of today. Any unused Spa Time will be carried over once our operations are back up and running”
“It’s with an incredibly heavy heart we have decided to close until further notice. Personal health and safety comes first for our staff and you, our loyal customers. We feel strongly that it is better to take action now before the risk increases. HOWEVER our online store will still be up and running with everything at 25% off with code ‘shoplocal’ at checkout. The link can be found in our bio. Deliveries/shipping will happen following the quarantine period. Now more than ever we need to be supporting the decisions of small businesses. Even one small purchase online makes the biggest difference. Thank you for understanding and helping small businesses navigate this weird time we’re living in. We love you more than you know ❤️
– The Vintelier team”

“Boutique Portion Closed. Still Open for Online Order Pick-ups (customer must knock and an employee will bring their order to the door). Employees are still fulfilling online orders while keeping everything clean and sanitized. In order to keep orders coming in, we’ve started at ‘Vote for what goes on sale’ game in our Facebook VIP Group where customers get to have a daily vote on which item from our website goes on sale for 40% off for the next 24 hours. We’ll keep doing that with a new item each day until people are uninterested. Then we’ll try to think of something else creative!”
“We at Re.Pose Therapy are now offering exclusively online counselling services. We are offering reduced rate, sliding scale and pro bono options for our clients and prospective clients. In the next days and weeks we will be rolling out free yoga and mindfulness classes, therapeutic groups and book clubs via zoom so we can still stay in community. This will be posted through social media.”

We will continue to answer phones, process orders, and open for arranged purchase pick-ups during business hours. We’re sending out discount codes to local guilds and groups to encourage online sales. We’re using our down time to add products to our online store that we normally only offer through brick-and-mortar shop.”
