A huge part of what makes our Downtown Abbotsford community so special are the faces behind the businesses. We thought we’d chat with the people that make this the best place to be by asking them a few questions about Downtown Abbotsford!

Meet Jessica MacMillan, owner of JAM Dance Center and an incredibly talented dancer!

What do you like about being in Downtown Abbotsford?

We love being apart of the community and performing at the downtown events.

Why did you open up a business in Downtown?

We think the downtown core is a unique spot with trendy, fun new businesses! There is a sense of family amongst these small businesses and it’s a beautiful environment to grow in!

What’s your favourite part of your day?

Welcoming all the kids and providing an outlet through movement!

Other than your own businesses, where’s your favourite place to visit?

Love visiting field house brewery on my days off! The live music is the best!

Where are your roots? (This can be cultural, geographical or even emotional)

Born and raised in Abbotsford.

Where do you enjoy spending your time most in Downtown Abbotsford?

Love to walk around and try all the new restaurants and shop locally.

Where would you like to see positive change in Downtown Abbotsford and why?

I would love to see continued support with our homeless community. To better understand and provide resources.

What’s the best reason to shop local?

To support our community and small businesses. Covid has been tough on a number of businesses but we are so passionate about what we do and we can only hope for continued support!

What’s your favourite experience or event in Downtown Abbotsford?

The Berry Fest and Winter Jubilee!
